Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026

By using CheckMyCar.ie you agree to these terms. Short version: the reports are expert guidance for your own research. Always get a professional inspection before you buy a car.

1. What CheckMyCar.ie Is

CheckMyCar.ie is a free tool that analyses Irish used car listings from DoneDeal, Carzone and similar sites. It produces a report covering timing belt or chain status, known engine faults, mileage analysis, price comparison, and suggested questions to ask the seller.

2. Reports Are Guidance, Not Professional Advice

Important. Reports produced by CheckMyCar.ie are expert guidance based on publicly available listing data and a manually curated engine database. They do not constitute professional mechanical or financial advice. Always get an independent mechanical inspection by a qualified mechanic before purchasing any used vehicle.

The engine database is verified against manufacturer service schedules and independent sources, but it cannot account for the specific condition of any individual car. Pricing, fault profiles, and mileage estimates are based on general Irish market data and may vary for any specific listing.

3. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for any purchasing decision you make. CheckMyCar.ie is not responsible or liable for any decision you make, any money you spend, or any car you buy based on a report. The tool is intended as one input to your own research, alongside a physical inspection, a vehicle history check from Cartell.ie or similar, and direct questions to the seller.

4. No Affiliation

CheckMyCar.ie is an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to DoneDeal.ie, Carzone.ie, Cartell.ie, Motorcheck.ie, or any other listing, history check, or car-related platform. Any trademarks referenced are the property of their respective owners.

5. Fair Use Policy

CheckMyCar.ie is free to use subject to a fair use limit of 3 checks per day per IP address. If you need more than that for legitimate buying research, email info@checkmycar.ie.

The following are not permitted:

6. Data and Privacy

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, CheckMyCar.ie, its operators, and its service providers are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the tool. The service is provided "as is" with no warranty, express or implied.
